Switching to Sitterly

Move client and pet records without pretending the whole business moves at once.

Sitterly's current import is narrow. It accepts supported client and pet CSVs, previews mapped rows, and creates client and pet records. Schedules, team records, pricing, messages, payments, and consent records do not come through this flow.

What the current importer recognizes

See the narrow import before you depend on it.

  • Time To Pet
  • Gingr
  • PetExec
  • Another client and pet CSV

The generic option still expects recognizable client and pet columns.

Client details

First and last name, email, phone, and address when the CSV uses a recognized column name.

Basic pet details

Pet name, species, breed, weight, and notes when those values are present in the same export.

Preview and warnings

Mapped rows appear before import, including counts and a warning when a client has neither an email nor a phone number.

Duplicate handling

Clients are matched by email or phone. A new pet can be added to an existing client when that pet name is not already present.

The current in-product import

Preview the rows, then import clients and pets.

  1. Step 1

    Choose the source format

Select Time To Pet, Gingr, PetExec, or the generic client and pet CSV mapping.

  2. Step 2

    Upload one CSV

The file is parsed against the recognized client and pet column names for that source.

  3. Step 3

    Review the mapped rows

Check the client and pet preview, unique-client count, pet count, and rows that are missing identifying details.

  4. Step 4

    Run the narrow import

The current tool writes client and pet records directly, then reports imported, skipped, and failed rows.

Most operating records are outside this import.

Client and pet CSV import is not a whole-business migration. These records need separate evaluation rather than an implied promise that they will move.

Team and scheduling

Sitters, availability, future bookings, assignments, and recurring schedules are not part of the current CSV import.

Services and pricing

Services, durations, rates, add-ons, and pricing rules are not created by this import.

Messages and money

Message history, provider accounts, payment records, and payment credentials require a separate plan.

History and consent

Past bookings, terms acceptance, card authorization, tax onboarding, and other consent-sensitive records are not imported here.

Keep the source while you verify the result.

The current tool does not create a draft migration or an automated rollback. Keep the original CSV and old system as references, then verify imported clients and pets before relying on them. Anything broader needs a separate plan.
