Our role
Sitterly is software used by independent pet-care businesses. When a pet-care business uses Sitterly to manage its clients, sitters, bookings, and operations, that business controls its business records and determines why the information is used. Sitterly processes that information to provide and protect the platform.
Information we process
- Account information: name, email, phone number, role, and authentication details.
- Business information: organization settings, staff, services, schedules, policies, and branding.
- Client and pet information: contact details, service address, pet profiles, care instructions, emergency contacts, veterinarian details, and notes.
- Booking and visit information: requested services, dates, assignments, status, messages, photos, reports, and location data when an enabled feature requires it.
- Transaction information: invoices, payment status, refunds, payouts, and provider identifiers. Full card details are handled by payment providers rather than stored by Sitterly.
- Technical information: device, browser, IP address, logs, cookies, diagnostics, and security events.
- Communications: email, text message, support, and notification records processed through the platform.
- Private-beta application information: business name, team size, service mix, current software, and the operational problems an applicant chooses to describe.
How information is used
- Provide booking, scheduling, messaging, payment, reporting, account, and private-beta features.
- Carry out instructions from the applicable pet-care business.
- Authenticate users, prevent abuse, secure tenant data, and investigate incidents.
- Operate support, maintain reliability, and improve platform performance.
- Evaluate private-beta applications and communicate about participation.
- Meet legal, accounting, safety, and provider requirements.
Public website measurement
Vercel Analytics provides aggregate, cookie-free measurement for this public website. Sitterly records page visits and a small set of conversion events, including which design-partner link was selected, when an application was started, a general reason category when an application cannot be sent, when an application is submitted successfully, and whether website analytics was allowed, declined, or denied by Global Privacy Control. The consent-choice event contains only that fixed choice category, not a name, email address, cookie ID, application answer, or account identifier. The other conversion events do not contain application answers or contact details.
If Microsoft Clarity is configured for this website and a visitor selects Allow analytics, Sitterly may use it to understand where the public website is useful or confusing through heatmaps and session replay. Clarity may collect page addresses and navigation, clicks, scrolling, pointer movement, browser and device details, page layout, performance and diagnostic information, and approximate location derived from an IP address.
Sitterly uses strict masking and explicitly masks the full design-partner application. Names, email addresses, business names, dropdown choices, and freeform application answers are not sent to Clarity. Sitterly does not grant Clarity advertising storage or send account identifiers through Clarity.
Clarity does not load unless a visitor allows analytics. Selecting No thanks does not limit access to the website. A visitor can change or withdraw the choice at any time through Privacy choices in the footer.
Microsoft receives and processes Clarity interaction data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Microsoft’s current Clarity retention schedule states that playback data is retained for 30 days and click data, heatmaps, and labeled or favorited sessions are retained for up to 9 months.
AI features
Sitterly uses artificial intelligence in selected features. Depending on the enabled workflow, AI may help turn sitter notes into a visit report, prepare a short recap, suggest sitter fit, or add commentary to a business report. Account controls may allow an owner to disable available AI features.
When someone uses an AI feature, Sitterly sends only the information the feature needs to the configured AI provider. That may include pet names, breeds, service details, and notes a sitter wrote. The provider processes that information to return the requested result.
Sitterly does not sell customer information or use tenant information to train Sitterly-owned models. AI capabilities are evolving; this policy will be updated when a feature processes materially different information.
Companies that help us run the platform
These companies may process information on our behalf when the related feature is used, under their own terms and privacy practices. A pet-care business may also connect integrations it selects.
- Stripe and Square: card payments and payouts.
- Twilio and OpenPhone: text messaging.
- Google: calendar integration when a business connects it.
- Amazon Web Services: file storage for supported photos, reports, and data exports.
- Mapbox and OpenStreetMap: maps, addresses, and driving routes.
- OpenAI: selected AI features described above.
- Resend: email delivery.
- Sentry: error monitoring and diagnostics.
- Render: application and database hosting.
- Vercel: public website hosting and aggregate, cookie-free website and conversion measurement.
- Microsoft Clarity: consent-gated heatmaps and session replay for the public website when configured, with strict masking of the design-partner application.
- Cloudflare: network protection and staff-access controls.
- Apple, Google, and Mozilla push services: phone and browser notifications when enabled.
Some providers are used only when a business enables the matching feature. This list may be updated as providers change.
SMS and text messages
When a user consents to SMS text messages, the applicable pet-care business may send booking confirmations, reminders, schedule changes, sitter updates, and related service communications through Sitterly. Message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of an applicable thread or HELP for assistance.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Text-message opt-in data and consent are not shared with third parties for their own marketing. Information is shared with messaging providers only as needed to deliver and manage the messages.
Retention
Information is retained for the time needed to provide the platform, follow the applicable pet-care business’s instructions, maintain security and audit records, resolve disputes, and meet legal or accounting requirements. When an account closes, some records may be retained where they are still needed for access, security, dispute, legal, or accounting purposes, and other information may be deleted under the applicable process.
Security
Sitterly uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted network connections, access controls, tenant scoping, credential protection, monitoring, and secure payment-provider integrations. No system can guarantee absolute security. Additional detail is available on the security and trust page.
Access, correction, and deletion
Clients and sitters should ordinarily direct requests to the pet-care business that manages their account. Account owners can use available platform controls or contact Sitterly for assistance. Depending on location and context, legal rights may include access, correction, deletion, or restriction of certain information. A request may be limited where information must be retained for security, legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution obligations. Identity verification may be required.
